‘Sardar Patel architect of India’s unity, integrity’
Varanasi: Bharatiya Janata Party’s city unit on Saturday paid floral tributes to ‘Iron Man’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary at his statue near Maldahiya crossing. Senior office-bearers, public representatives and party workers gathered in large numbers, garlanded the statue and remembered Patel’s decisive role in building a united India.
Addressing the gathering, UP minister of state for AYUSH Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ said Patel was not merely a political leader but the architect of India’s unity. He said Patel integrated hundreds of princely states and laid the foundation of a strong nation, whose vision is being carried forward today.
Cantt MLA Saurabh Srivastava said Patel’s foresight, firm will and courage enabled citizens to live in an integrated India. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from Patel’s life and contribute actively to nation-building.
At Patel Dharamshala in Teliyabagh area, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Smarak Samiti also marked his 151st birth anniversary. UP minister Hansraj Vishwakarma inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp and garlanding Patel’s portrait.
